Leonardo Da Vinci offered the world glimpses of the distant future through his awe-inspiring designs. We present three miniature models representing some of these futuristic designs. The "Aerial Screw" was a precursor of the modern day helicopter. This device was designed to compress air to obtain flight employing a team of four men to spin the rotary blade. The "Swing Bridge" is a portable lightweight bridge that was intended to span across a body of water so armies could cross, disassemble and tow away. Leonardo improved upon the established "Catapult" by employing a hand-crank that caused tension on the throw arm before releasing a projectile. Each model is a moving replica of the original plans and contains historical information. A wonderful educational opportunity for any age.
